2005-10-22 [Jay Ladlehaus]: See the comment above yours

2005-10-22 [SleepingxPoison]: yah i no but where do i put it in the comment box?

2005-10-22 [Charybdis]: No, you edit the wiki page and add your poem after the last entry. If you're not sure on how to edit a wiki-page, check out CNETG9 :)

2005-10-22 [SleepingxPoison]: ok thanks!

2005-10-22 [Doormat]: 8 whole days...8 whole days to write a poem :(

2005-10-22 [Sunrose]: We already have 38 poems, so 8 days is doable :)

2005-10-22 [Chimes]: i did mine in i think a day so yeah it is

2005-10-22 [~*Luna*~]: How do I get a poem on here?

2005-10-25 [Doormat]: But you can't force poetry...I guess it's next year then :/

2005-10-25 [Charybdis]: Well, you still have five days for your Muse to strike :P

2005-10-26 [angel dragon]: Can I join in?

2005-10-26 [Charybdis]: The contest? Of course! It's open to all Elftowners :)

2005-10-27 [angel dragon]: hey can somebody help me out to join

2005-10-27 [Charybdis]: If you're not sure how to add your poem, CNETG9 is sure to be useful for you :)

2005-10-27 [angel dragon]: where do i start writing my halloween poem?

2005-10-27 [Charybdis]: Well, um, you write it wherever you happen to be, I guess, and then you type it up and copy it onto Halloween Poety 05, Page 2 by editing the wikipage.

2005-10-27 [Lakayana]: here i come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2005-10-27 [Sunrose]: xD (sorry, twisted humor :p)

2005-10-28 [angel dragon]: can I write it in my gest book or diary?

2005-10-28 [Charybdis]: Well, you can't write anything in your guestbook, but you could write in your diary if you wanted to, I suppose... although you'd still have to add it to Halloween Poetry 05, Page 2 for it to be counted as an entry :)

2005-10-28 [angel dragon]: so when i finish writing my poem on my diary what do i do

2005-10-28 [Charybdis]: Then you read CNETG9 to learn how to edit a wiki-page, then add it to the wiki that you get to if you click the link in my last comment.

2005-10-28 [angel dragon]: WHERE is the cnetg9 is cause im new here

2005-10-28 [Charybdis]: Click the link in my comment, and it'll take you there.

2005-10-29 [Karmathious]: that's the best way to write poetry...cuz then it just comes to you as you're typing. ^_^

2005-10-29 [EmeraldGrizzly]: Are prose-stories (short or long stories written in poem form) allowed?

2005-10-29 [Charybdis]: "2. Length: ... Anywhere from 8-35 lines is acceptable." So if it's <35 lines, and qualifies as poetry, I suppose so.

2006-09-26 [~*Luna*~]: hehe. THank you, Morningstar!

2006-09-26 [Morningstar Rising]: Your welcome. Good Luck.

2006-10-02 [A_real_freak]: SWEET HALLOWEEN CONTEST THIS WILL BE MY VERY FIRST CONTEST I ENTER!! and my birth day is on october 28 ^_^

2006-10-03 [Fireblade K'Chona]: Bugger, I wrote a lovely sestina about vampires and it's too long. >.< It's only 39 lines-can I still enter?

2006-10-03 [Sunrose]: No :(

2006-10-03 [Fireblade K'Chona]: Oh well. -sigh- And it's such a nice sestina too; I quite like it! And I went to all that trouble!

Oh well.

2006-10-03 [Linderel]: You could still submit it to Daily Poem, though. :)

2006-10-03 [Fireblade K'Chona]: I could, I could. I probably will.

2006-10-03 [GoneGone]: Where may I lodge a suggestion/complaint concerning this competition?

2006-10-03 [Linderel]: Here, probably.

2006-10-04 [GoneGone]: I was wondering why there wasn't a short story aspect to this competition and whether it could be included in future creative contests.

2006-10-04 [Sunrose]: There will be a separate short story contest soon :)

2006-10-04 [GoneGone]: Yay! I'll keep an eye out for it! Thank you.

2006-10-31 [Gregory.]: :-( Can i please enter mine..? I didn't find out how to get here until now..!

2006-11-01 [Linderel]: Well, the contest was closed a couple of days ago, and we're currently choosing the winners, so... That would be a no.

2006-11-01 [Sunrose]: Comments by [Gregory.] deleted. These are the rules, you had over a month to enter. If you couldn't find this wiki, you still had tons of time to ask for help.

2006-11-01 [Gregory.]: And how am i suposed to know that there is any if they aren't advertised? And i joined in less then a month ago so you can kiss meh ass

2006-11-01 [Linderel]: The news on Mainstreet.

2006-11-01 [Sunrose]: Your house shows you joined Elftown in February 2006 (that's 8 months ago, not 1!).
The contest was announced in <news:Halloween Contests 2006!> (Sept. 24th) and advertised in -every- newsitem after that:
<news:[ET Desktop Design Contest@wiki] <poll:72650>>, <news:[Elftown Prose Contest@wiki]!>, <news:[ET Desktop Design Contest@wiki] winners!> and <news:[Fantasy Portrait Contest@wiki]>.
It was also added to Competitions and to the Mainstreet Calender (which is on the left side of Mainstreet, until the deadline was reached).
So quite frankly, you can kiss MY ass. Further comments from you will be deleted.

2007-09-22 [Sunrose]: This contest has been opened for 2007 entries! :)

2007-10-05 [Alexi Ice]: Oh, good, I was reading the comments above and thought you were refering to the new contes (being closed that is) I was like, but it says very clearly, october 25. Lol. That scared me for a second there...^^

2007-10-07 [Codename B]: Damn... The poem I entered in last years competition fits this theme like a glove... Well, it didn't win anything last year... Could I resubmit it?

2007-10-08 [Sunrose]: No, you already got a reward for it then..

2007-10-16 [inserting name here]: If I submit a poem on elfpack's contest, can I enter the same one here?

2007-10-16 [Sunrose]: If it follows our theme :)

2007-10-16 [inserting name here]: Oki doki

2008-04-16 [BinaryPhoenix]: Is this contest open yet? I can't seem to find the "Edit" button on the submissions page, Halloween Poetry 08, page 1 ...

2008-04-16 [Linderel]: No, it is not. It will open sometime in late September.

2008-04-16 [BinaryPhoenix]: OK, thanx

2008-04-16 [inserting name here]: Obviously it won't be posted yet if we're in April, duh.

2008-04-17 [BinaryPhoenix]: I know, I just thought that maybe someone had the bright idea that if they open the contest early enough, there'll be more entries, also, everyone will have more than enough time to start and finish their entries and enter on time. ^__^

But that's just me, being silly I guess. :P

2008-04-18 [Linderel]: It isn't, but opening a Halloween contest in April would be a bit of overkill, don't you think?

2008-04-18 [stuffAEAmade]: Then what if we tried earlier in September?

2008-04-19 [Linderel]: Yes, well. Drawing from memory, all the holiday contests have been cut a little bit too close for my tastes. It would be better to open them perhaps a month and a half (instead of a mere month, usually in fact less) before the deadline, and move the deadline backwards.

2008-04-19 [stuffAEAmade]: I think that's a good idea. Then the Mainstreet polls could be up longer too.

2008-04-19 [Linderel]: My point exactly. That, and there would not be such a bleeding hurry with the crew polls.

2008-04-19 [Alexi Ice]: I don’t really mean to disagree, but I thought the contests were made to test our skills? I could write a poem for anything in a few months I thought the point was to see what we could do under a little standardized contest pressure? I think the rush is fun, and if it ran longer it wouldn’t be challenging in the slightest...and if were gonna do that we might as well just submit to the daily poem...

2008-04-19 [Linderel]: A month and a half goes by surprisingly fast, you know. And it's not only about the poetry, it's about the art, too - and in my limited experience, drawing takes longer.

2008-04-19 [Alexi Ice]: Sorry, I dont know much about that category and yeah I can understand the art, even though I dont draw I have seen the process a few times. I just don't like to wait so long for the results you know (even though I never win these things) Its still pretty long to wait. ..

2008-09-26 [Tingis]: Can I enter the same poem as in the magic contest?:3

2008-09-26 [Lothuriel]: No.

2008-09-26 [Tingis]: .> It was just a question?

2008-09-26 [Jitter]: Ah don't take it as an agressive reply, I'm sure Loth didn't mean it like that but being so busy as she is sometimes she can only afford so short messages ^^ *pats*

2008-09-26 [Alexi Ice]: Lol.

2008-09-26 [Lothuriel]: [Tingis], It was a simple reply yes, a rude reply not. <img:stuff/cheshmak.gif>

2008-09-27 [Tingis]: Okay! :D thank you

2008-09-30 [Tingis]: I've got one ready :D just going to let it correct for english mistakes ^^

2008-10-03 [Leb]: Is there a reason that the winners from last year aren't posted on here like the ones in the art and costume section are? I'm thinking it has to do with the fact it was a different theme last year poetry wise, while the art and costume section stays the same...

2008-10-03 [Lothuriel]: No it was probably overlooked by the lady who did them all. She went back through a lot of contests and worked very hard...so, I haven't complained <img:stuff/cheshmak.gif>

2008-10-03 [Jitter]: Actually it gets quite crammed if we add writing winners as well. I think that's why they're not here but they can always be seen at official competition winners gallery

2008-10-03 [Lothuriel]: One of the many reasons you are teh awesome!<img:61691_1132959456.gif>

2008-10-03 [Jitter]: <img:44166_1164145197.gif><img:44166_1164903263.gif>

2009-01-03 [FamousPanda]: Lets get a head start on the 2009 comp. ^-^ haha

2010-09-06 [Ravendust]: Halloween Poetry Competitions is a blank wiki

2010-09-06 [windowframe]: Fixed, thanks. :)

2011-09-09 [FamousPanda]: open for 2011?

2011-09-09 [windowframe]: It will be soon. ;)

2011-09-23 [FamousPanda]: Can't wait.. I'm glad to be back on here ^-^

2011-09-25 [MyAlterEgo]: I don't want to sound stupid, but can you define vintage poetry?

2011-09-25 [windowframe]: Vintage is the theme, not a medium. You're not writing "vintage poetry" but poetry with a "vintage" topic.

2011-11-06 [Olwen]: when does the winner get announced?

2011-11-06 [wicked fae mage]: After the Literature Judges have discussed and debated which poem they feel should win. It could take a few days, but they have already started :)

2011-11-12 [Tynuka-Rhytishy]: Just so someone knows, it still says the contest is open above.

2011-11-12 [Nioniel]: Fixed. Thanks!

2011-11-24 [FamousPanda]: Anything yet?

2011-11-24 [Nioniel]: I'm sure that as soon as a decision has been made, the winner will be announced.

2011-12-13 [FamousPanda]: This is the longest few days of my life lol

2011-12-13 [iippo]: Sorry, have a bit more patience, the judges have almost finished judging and we're almost ready to announce winnars :3

2014-11-12 [Ravendust]: [Nioniel] <3 thanks for doing the close, super busy past two days :o

2014-11-12 [Nioniel]: No worries.
